BRANDING AND PACKAGING DESIGN FOR LEBANESE MOUNEH
Mouneh, means ‘to store’, and storing food is an important tradition in Lebanon throughout history.
The process consist of different methods such as pickling, preserving, brining, drying for storing foods.
‘Mounit el sabbaya’ aims at reviving this process and ensuring its continuity.
It also empowers women living in Lebanese villages by offering them the possibility
to share their knowhow and knowledge with the community at large.
Considering the traditional aspect of the mouneh, the branding works towards preserving the old spirit of this process.
The logo is an abstraction of the cloth used to cover the mouth.
The calligraphy is traditional with a modern touch.
The artwork is based on water color drawings portraying the village spirit in the Lebanese mountains.
